The Glassblowing Facility provides services to all departments in
HKUST. The services offered include fabrication ,repair, design of glassware.
To Submit a job request, users have to fill out a fabrication form and
provide an account that can be charged to (authorized signature of
budget controller is required). Normally, glassblowing services are provided
on a first-come-first-served basis.
The GBF is equipped with a range of equipment and tools and has a
capability for glassblowing fabrication at temperature up to ~ 3000¢XC. These
include temperature-programmed annealing ovens, grinding mills, sander with wet
diamond belt and the glassblowing lathe with various types of burners.
A good stock of common glassware, borosilicate and quartz tubing and
spare parts, which can be checked out by all users of the University, is maintained
at the GBF.

- Received job requests
- Provide technical advice

3:00p.m. - 5:15p.m Minor Work
- Fabricate and repair simple glass apparatus
